Rajiv Gandhi International Airport also know as Hyderabad International Airport is located at Shamshabad, Hyderabad. It is named after former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi which situated about 22 km from Hyderabad, the city of Andhra Pradesh, India. This airport replaced the former international airport of the city, Begumpet Airport which now used for military aviation training and for flights carrying VIPs. The airport is host to the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy, Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy (RGAA) and the Begumpet Air Force Station of the Indian Air Force. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport links Hyderabad with other cities of the Indian sub continent and also the cities of Middle East, South East Asia, UK, United States etc. The airport terminals are provided with all the eminent facilities of a modern airport.
