Hyderabad city is a known place, famous for its diverse culture and traditions. The population is composed of many segments with different faith and belief systems. The population as such celebrate a number of festivals, local as well as those celebrated through out the country. The popular festivals celebrated here include Deccan Festival, Lumbini Festival, Mrigasira Festival and Ugadi. Ugadi is a festival celebrated throughout Andhra Pradesh state. The festival marks the new year for A.P (Andhra Pradesh).Festivals celebrated in the city and throughout the country include Makara Sakranti, Shivratri, Diwali, Moharram, Eid and Vinayak Chaturthi.

In Hyderabad, festivals are celebrated with the same fanfare and zeal as the rest of India. During festival days there is a marked increased in commercial activity, people can be seen devoting great time to worship, the bazars and markets are filled with the celebrations and gifts stuff and many popular places can be seen adorned with decorative stuff.

Also celebrated in the city are various cultural fairs and festivals. The Deccan Festival for instance, witnesses the hosting of cultural shows and exhibitions throughout the city. The fairs organized in the city are moments wherein a person can capture some age old experiences and traditions that are still alive in the region. At many places the festivals are celebrated with interesting games and activities. Bull-fights and cock-fights are popular at many places in the city.

The Kite Festival is one of the popular festivals celebrated at Shilpamaram. During this festival people of all ages can be seen flying kites at the mentioned place. The scene above reveals multi colored pattern of objects soaring in the sky. The scene is quite fascinating.

Festivals, as elsewhere are accompanied by grand feasts and serving popular food. The streets and restaurants smell exotic during the festival days. Several traditional dishes and sweets are prepared at homes and also served at restaurants.
