Towards the east of Hyderabad city is located the sub urban
region of Habshiguda. The region is situated off the Habshiguda Main
Road coming from the north of the city. Habshiguda is a planned
locality in the east and reveals a unique circular block with the
diverging roads from the centre. Birds eye view makes this small
locality look like a Chakra ( wheel with spokes converging towards
the center).
Habshiguda is primarily a residential area and features several
residential localities. Vivekanand Nagar, Elugu Gutta and Kalyanpuri
are some main residential areas in the township. These township
house a number of institutions and small establishments. There are
schools and health centres providing services to the regional
population, shopping areas, small restaurants and eateries and many
other small establishments.
Over its territories are established some popular training
institutes like Indian Statistical Institute, Survey Training
Institute, Setwin Training Institute. Habshiguda is many a times
seen as an extension of the Jamia Osmania. The suburb is a separate
block and limits the boundary of the popular learning centre.
The attractions for Habshiguda lie in its adjoining areas. The
region as such can be said as having strategic importance. Towards
its north west is the campus of Jamia Osmania, the north is marked
by Tarnaka region and south west by Ameerpet.
Accessibility :
- Habsiguda can be reached by taking a bus from the city center
which is around 9 kms far.
- Jamia Osmania Railway Station is the nearest to the place.
The railway station is about two kilometres away and towards the
west of Habsiguda.
- Hyderabad Airport is about 10 kms from Habsiguda and
connected by many link roads.
