Dilsukh Nagar is a small township that lies south of the Musi
river in the city of Hyderabad. The southern state of India, Andhra
Pradesh, of which Hyderabad is capital has long been the meeting
point of the north and southern culture. Dilsukh Nagar is one of the
suburbs in the said territorial plains. The place is situated off
the National Highway Number 9 that proceeds further east into the
adjacent district of Hyderabad. Dilsukh Nagar houses many small
colonies and thus constitute a residential area. The region is
fragmented in small localities that are connected with small roads.
Some of these localities include Kalyan Nagar Colony, SBI Officer's
Colony, Gaddi Annaram, NGO Colony, etc. The colonies are provided
with all the essentialities of daily life including some great
markets. The Triveni Super Market located here is one great place to
shop in the city.
The region has some popular tourist attractions that helps in
making some bucks to the people associated with the said enterprise
(tourism). Asmangadh Fort, at a little distance from the national
highway is the best to offer. Nearby is located Birla Archaeological
Museum and a couple of holy places. The Race Course, which is very
popular in the city lies to the east of Dilsukh Nagar and less than
two kilometres away.
Within the localities of Dilsukh Nagar are present many small
institutions and establishments some of which have earned a
reputation in the city. National Institute for Mentally Handicapped,
Mumtaz College and Red Cross Family Welfare Centre are few
accredited establishments located here.
Accessibility :
- Buses from Hyderabad Bus Depot and Imliban Bus Station ply
between the two places. One can avail the opportunity of
reaching the place by taking a bus from the said stations.
- Travelling in a train one can drop at Malakpet Railway
Station which is the nearest to the place. The railway station
lies to the west of the place some 3 kms away.
- The nearest airport is the one located at Begumpet. This
airport is about 13 kms away from Dilsukh Nagar.
