Begumpet

Begumpet is one of the localities that lies in the adjoining area of Hyderabad. The small city or twin city of Hyderabad called Secunderabad is more or less as extension of Hyderabad city and falls in the north. The Bowanpalli Road in Secunderabad provides access to the region from Hyderabad.

Begumpet is a small locality that can be seen as a region marking the boundary between Hyderabad city and that of Secunderabad. The expansion of commercial activities further north of Hyderabad city has made Begumpet a popular area. The single most important feature of the place is the provision of airport. With the national and international airport terminals located in the region the place serves as the gateway in to the state of Andhra Prasdesh as well the south of India. The airport serves the twin cities that is Secunderabad and Hyderabad as well other districts of the state.

Begumpet in its outlook is quite like an urban centre with lot of things happening round the clock. The region is marked by government establishments and numerous private enterprises. There are enough schools, medical centres, local shopping markets, etc. There are some sites that bear certain historical importance and as such constitute viisiting places for the tourists. Sir Ronald Ross Institute, built in 1895, is a great example. The institute is one famous study centre around that served as a millitary hospital in the past. The institute has earned a reputation in the academic circle, in the state and beyond. There are scores of travel agencies and software companies located here.
